Celebrating National Women in Engineering Day at CUED - 23 June 2016

The sub-theme of National Women in Engineering Day 2016 is raising profiles so we have taken the opportunity to publish profiles of some of our students and staff to show that women are forging successful paths at CUED in all branches of engineering and at every level.

The profiles are online at https://www-womeninengineering.eng.cam.ac.uk/inspiring/index.  Thank you to all those who have contributed profiles; we hope that this resource will continue to grow so please send your entries to wi-eng@eng.cam.ac.uk

These profiles of CUED engineers complement the entries to the 'inspirational women engineers' competition.  The shortlisted entries for this competition are displayed between the DPO and the Library and further details of the competition are online at https://www-womeninengineering.eng.cam.ac.uk/inspiring/competition

The Women in Engineering Forum is also running a session on ‘Addressing Unconscious Bias’ today from 12-14.00 in LT1.  We all have unconscious biases which can impact how we behave in interviews, meetings and other interactions so having an awareness of this can help us avoid making unfair decisions.  In the coming months we hope to make further training materials available online.  For further details of the event see https://www.eventbrite.com/e/women-in-engineering-forum-addressing-unconscious-bias-tickets-26003334674
