LGBTQ+

We are delighted to welcome all of our LGBT+ colleagues to Cambridge and would like to introduce you to a range of networks, resources and events which may interest you.

If you are interested in setting up local events, we would love to hear from you! Please email engineering-diversity@eng.

If you don't identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or other minority gender identities and sexual orientations, but would like to know more about, get involved with, or support the LGBT+ Staff Network, contact equality@admin.cam.ac.uk.

Stonewall has produced guidance on how non-LGBT+ 'allies' can support LGBT+ equality at work:

Networks, Events and Resources

University-Wide Staff Network provides information and support to staff, assists with the coordination of diversity events and helps the University to progress equality. The Network also provides informal buddying and mentoring initiatives and links to LGBT+ communities. There is a formal email list to keep you posted on events as well as a facebook group.

CUSU LGBT+ website is the homepage of the Cambridge University Student LGBT+ campaign, covering a range of social and educational events.

Cam Queer History is a group of University Members (undergrads, grads and staff) putting on a series of events for LGBTQ+ History Month 2019.

ENCOMPASS NETWORK is a network promoting a better quality of life for LGBTQ people in Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas by enabling networking and capacity building for the LGBTQ voluntary and community sector.

Pride in STEM July 5th 2019 #LGBTSTEMDay is run by an independent group of LGBT+ scientists and engineers from around the world, aiming to showcase and support all LGBT+ people in STEM fields. You can find out more about how Cambridge marked the 2018 Pride in STEM day here.

LGBTQ+A@CAM is a research network which sets out to promote research, outreach and network building related to queer, trans and sexuality studies at the University of Cambridge.

LGBTQ+ Resources and Collections [Libguides] offer an entry point to resources and collections across the University of Cambridge that focus on various aspects of LGBTQ+ studies.

LGBT Reading Resources library run by Cambridge University Student Union, providing access to materials representing the community (including academic studies, autobiographies, hard to find music or novels and films) which might otherwise by hard to get hold of. It is housed in the CUSU/GU loung in 17 Mill Lane.

A Central News Area covers a digest of LGBT stories from across the University.
