About
Recognising the under-representation of certain groups, the Institute of Physics have developed programs which look to identify barriers to participation and to use evidence-based research to create models of good practice that break down these barriers and encourage and engage diverse groups. The flagship activity is Project Juno, but other initiatives look to support all scientists in their careers; including people from the LGBTQ+ community and those with disabilities. Jess will talk about what these programs are and why they are needed. She will also talk about her own campaign to make the internet great again - through editing Wikipedia and celebrating the outstanding minority groups already working in science.
