About
Building Bridges in Medical Sciences is hosting its sixth conference organised by graduate students of the Graduate School of Life Sciences. The conference is a one day event open to everyone with an interest in the life sciences. The BBMS Conference aims to focus on an interdisciplinary approach to biomedical research and features prominent speakers from disparate scientific disciplines, such as basic research, clinical practice, public health policy, industrial enterprise and more.
This year the conference will take place on Friday 7th March at Robinson College, Cambridge. Registration is free for all attendees and includes complimentary lunch and refreshments. This year there will also be a poster and image competition, two student talks and various networking sessions.
This year, the organisers have made a conscious effort to include a higher proportion of women in their line-up of exceptional scientists and health care professionals (4 out of 7 invited speakers are female, including 1 female Nobel laureate). These speakers have been encouraged to address the topic of women in STEM subjects as part of their talks.
Registration as well as poster abstract submission is now open: www.bbmscambridge.com/registration/
