Race Equality Charter staff survey

The University is committed to creating an inclusive environment where individuals feel welcome irrespective of their race or ethnicity. To help facilitate progress, we are currently working towards an application for the Race Equality Charter (REC) run by Equality Challenge Unit (ECU).

The Charter provides a framework for universities to address the representation, progression and retention of Black and Minority Ethnic staff and students within the higher education sector. Further information about Cambridge’s participation is available here.

As part of the REC application process, we are running a survey to invite your views on working at Cambridge and whether you think there is anything the University can do to advance race equality. By taking part, you will be helping us to identify areas for improvement and possible ways forward. Your opinions are important to us, regardless of your ethnic, racial or national background.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and its closing date is 25 June. I would greatly appreciate if you could participate in it by following the link below.

Any personal data that you provide will only be accessed by the University’s Equality & Diversity Section senior team members. At no point will the information you provide be shared in a way that would allow you to be personally identified. The anonymised results of the survey will be analysed by a Self-Assessment Team  - made up of academic, professional and support staff, postdocs and students - who will be coordinating the application. The findings will feed into the University’s Race Equality Charter Action Plan.

If you have any queries about the University’s participation in the Race Equality Charter, please direct them to Dr Joanna Jasiewicz at joanna.jasiewicz@admin.cam.ac.uk in the University’s E&D Section.

Thank you in advance for giving your time to complete the survey.

Best wishes,

Professor Eilís Ferran
